LemonSkin™ is the bio-based leather-like material made from lemon pomace discarded by the beverage industry such as lemonade or lemon juice.
Lemon with a high cellulose content have ample potential for being textiles. For this, high technology is required to remove sugar from apples, and VEGATEX® has a patented for this.

A mixture of mostly lemon pomace powder and some of water-based polyurethane.

Collecting Apple Pomace
From the beverage industry, the apple pomace leftover is collected, washed and dried.
STEP 2 (PU+)
Extraction and Transformation
Apple pomace is extracted into a highly concentrated liquid and then converted into a fine powder for easy mixing and storage.
STEP 3 (PU+)
Mixed with Water-based PU
Water-based PU and apple pomace powder are mixed for durability.
